Veteran EdTech Nonprofit Recognizes Cultural Centers from Around the World for Distinguished Work in Interactive Virtual Learning
North Mankato, Minn. (August 18, 2022) — The Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC), a nonprofit dedicated to breaking down educational barriers through distance learning, announced today its 2021-2022 Pinnacle Award winners, an annual award bestowed to CILC Content Providers for accomplishments in creating live virtual field trip experiences!
Each year, CILC awards Content Providers, national and international field experts as well as educators from museums, zoos, aquarium, science, historical, cultural, and performing arts centers, for “Programs of Distinction” determined by evaluations received from educators and activity coordinators who have participated in the live virtual field trip experience. Content Providers receiving the annual accolade are recognized as having programs with high educational value that actively involve learners at their level, and are professionally delivered via videoconferencing technologies.
Glenn Morris, CILC executive director, lauds the Pinnacle Award as “the highest recognition by the CILC community for engaging learners across the globe. This coveted award comes from educators who are using Content Provider programs in the classroom, and all are based on outstanding evaluations by teachers for teachers to help build a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and inspirational learning.”
CILC serves as a hub that connects young minds to live virtual learning experiences from the finest cultural organizations and peer groups around the world. This year CILC is also inducting five Content Providers into its Hall of Fame to recognize 10 consecutive years of receiving the Pinnacle Award.
Jasmin Poor from the Roper Mountain Science Center who received a Hall of Fame honor this year states: “CILC is a wonderful nonprofit organization that connects teachers with the finest Content Providers from all over the world, giving students the opportunity to learn from people they may never meet in places they may never experience. This organization is foundational for providing the same educational opportunities for students in every zip code.”
The first Pinnacle Awards were given in 2008 and has continued as a CILC tradition for 14 years. Awards are announced at the start of each new academic year to ensure education teams are aware of the high-quality live virtual field trip experiences available to help bring learning to life in the classroom.
